Byrna® Less-Lethal 12-Gauge Rounds are engineered to provide a powerful defensive option while significantly reducing the risks associated with traditional lethal ammunition. These rounds feature a custom clamshell and wad design to ensure proper barrel alignment upon exit, along with parting lines, variable wall thickness, and sonic welding that create a projectile that is strong yet frangible where applicable. Byrna’s patented Fin-Tailed® technology enhances in-flight stability and accuracy out to approximately 100 feet. Because these rounds contain no gunpowder, discharge is up to 16× quieter than a standard shotgun round and produces minimal perceived recoil. The rounds deliver kinetic-only impact and contain no chemical payload, making them a controlled, less-lethal defensive solution.

🔫 FIREARM COMPATIBILITY

These rounds are fully compatible with pump-action shotguns and are recommended for use in that platform. The Byrna® 12-Gauge round contains no gunpowder and therefore will not cycle a semi-automatic shotgun action; however, it can be manually cycled and fired through most semi-automatic shotguns. Use only with standard cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke 12-gauge shotguns. Do not use with modified, full, rifled, or specialty choked barrels.

Byrna® 12-Gauge Less-Lethal ammunition is compatible with all 12-gauge shotguns using a standard cylinder bore or improved cylinder choke. Platforms extensively tested include the Remington 870, Mossberg 590, and Kel-Tec KSG. The blast registers at less than 117 decibels, making it up to 16× quieter than a traditional shotgun blast and similar to Byrna .68 caliber CO₂ launchers. The round contains no gunpowder and is powered only by a primer, resulting in almost no perceived recoil. Effective range is approximately 100 feet. When stored properly in dry conditions, Byrna® 12-Gauge rounds are warrantied for up to 3 years.
